Winter Hours and Holiday Closures

As it gets darker and colder, the shop hasn’t been as busy towards the end of the shifts. Since we value our volunteers’ time and don’t want to leave them waiting around alone in the dark and cold, we are going to switch to reduced weekday hours starting November 13, 2019. The reduced hours are from 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Saturday hours will remain unchanged.

To give our volunteers time to spend with the friends and family, we will be closed Thanksgiving week on November 27, 28 and 30. Please keep this in mind in the upcoming week.

We hope to see you in the shop!

Volunteer Orientation

This coming Saturday May 11, 2019 we will have Volunteer Orientation from 11:00 am to 12 noon at the shop. We will be going over how to shop works, how you can help out and how to become a key-carrying holder of shifts.

If you can’t make it this Saturday, we’re planning on having them regularly on the second Saturday of the month the hour before we have Open Shop.

WTF is back

Women-Trans-Femme (WTF) is returning! Kitty will be holding WTF on the fourth Monday (6-9 pm) and second Sunday (4-7 pm)* of the month. This new schedule starts Monday January 28, 2019 and Sunday February 10, 2019.

WTF is a safe space for women, genderqueer, femmes – those who are typically marginalized in the bicycling and bike mechanic world. Our goal is to empower the female, genderqueer folk of Davis and surrounding areas to learn more about bike mechanics and gender relations.

To ensure this space remains an empowering place for marginalized individuals, we ask that those not identifying with these groups come to our Open Shop hours instead.

*Due to scheduling difficulties we’ve decided to hold only the fourth Monday for now (as of February 11, 2019).

Holiday Closures 2018

The Davis Bike Collective will be closed on Wednesday December 26 and Thursday December 27 while our volunteers spend time with family and friends.
